The Centre hosts a number of geographic and thematic networks that meet on a regular basis to discuss priorities across the community investment space. Below you will find information on each of our networks and how to get involved.

THE CENTRE DISCUSSES

The Centre Discusses is a fortnightly webinar series from The Centre for Excellence in Community Investment which connects community investment leaders and practitioners from around the UK with a range of relevant and inspiring speakers.

The speakers will discuss a wide range of topics, from showcasing innovative community investment work to bringing us opportunities for collaboration, and keeping us ahead of the curve on the latest trends and challenges which affect our work.

Upcoming webinars

How sport contributes to strong communities’

The Coalition will speak about the contribution that sport and physical activity can make in strengthening communities, particularly around three shared areas of focus for Housing Associations and Sport for Development organisations, which are:

  • Education and employment
  • Anti-social behaviour and community safety
  • Health and wellbeing

SCOTLAND

Network lead: Michael McLaughlin – Digital Lead, HACT

The Scotland network meets every two months on the last Monday to discuss their priorities. Agendas and notes from previous meetings will be discussed in advance of the meeting. We will send out information on connecting to the call to everyone who signs up.

RACIAL EQUALITY GROUP (REG)

Network leads: Dele Ryder – Partnership and Fundraising Manager, A2Dominion / Charmaine Simei – Director of Community Investment, Longhurst Group

Alongside many across the UK, housing associations were spurred into action by the murder of George Floyd in 2020 and the resurgent Black Lives Matter movement. A group of committed housing associations have worked with the Centre for Excellence in Community Investment to form a Racial Equality Group.

Following a joint statement of intent from the group and engagement events with colleagues across the sector to develop plans, the Racial Equality Group are hosting this event to continue the conversation and keep pushing for action to move towards racial equality.
