The Centre for Excellence in Community Investment will champion and celebrate the importance and impact of community investment across the UK
The Centre is:
- providing a platform for promoting the importance of community investment both inside and outside of the social housing sector
- providing a mechanism for community investment professionals to share and develop their practice
- ensuring that community investment underpins housing providers as they evolve their services and relationships with their customers and communities.
The Centre believes that community investment is a core part of social housing.
When we talk about community investment in a housing association context, we mean anything that housing associations do or provide beyond the bricks and mortar of building, maintaining or repairing homes.
Housing associations are in their communities long term, and the work that communities teams do has a tremendous impact on residents and the local area. Community investment has social value – value for residents, and value for communities – and it saves money for housing associations and the public purse.
Over the next two years, we’ll continue to develop the Centre for Excellence in Community Investment, focusing on our four key pillars: Influence, Innovate, Insight and Inspire.
Click the links on the left to find out more about each pillar, sign up to our newsletter to keep up to date, and join our LinkedIn group to start speaking to community investment colleagues in your areas and around the UK.
The Centre was set up in September 2018 by HACT, thanks to funding from Clarion Futures, L&Q, Orbit, Peabody, and Sovereign.
